Position: Community Engagement Graduate 
Location: Great Bridge, West Midlands, DY4 0PU 
Job type: Full Time, Permanent 
Hours: 40 hours per week, flexible hours available, Monday - Friday 
Salary: £18,500 per annum

About the role: 

The Community Engagement Graduate support and co-ordinate the Company’s Community Engagement Programme. 

Responsibilities: 

- Develop and implement a clear and consistent community strategy across all areas of A.F. Blakemore. 
- Manage and develop the company’s employee volunteering programme and evaluate all inputs, outputs and impacts. 
- Build and maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders in relation to community engagement. 
- Oversee the Branching Out programme across the business to help inspire future talent. 
- Support the role of Community Champions across the organisation and work alongside them to develop specific community plans aligned to divisional community targets and the company wide strategy. 
- Promote the AFB Community programme through internal and external presentations. 
- Work alongside the Communications & Engagement Officer to actively promote all community engagement activity and the way it makes a significant, positive contribution to the community internally and externally. 
- Ensure community programme is kept within BITC membership budget. 
- Ensure expenditure for employee volunteering projects falls within Blakemore Foundation budget. 
- Behave within the principles of the company’s values at all times. 
- Maintain employee and organisational confidentiality in line with the Data Protection Act. 
- Demonstrate commitment to equality and diversity. 
- Comply with all legislative requirements as well as all company policies, procedures and processes. 
- Could be required to travel to sites other than normal place of work for business purposes. 
- Could be required to stay away from home overnight or attend evening events on behalf of the business. 
- May have access to company car as part of role and must ensure this is looked after in accordance with company policy. 

About you: 

- Educated to degree level (2:2) or equivalent. 
- Full driving licence essential. 
- Five GCSE A-C / 9-3 (English & Maths) essential. 
- Full UK Driving Licence essential. 
- Strong organisational, administrational and planning skills with a keen attention to detail. 
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills essential. 
- Competence in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Publisher, Excel and Access essential. 
- Demonstrates integrity, a strong work ethic and upholds the company values and principles. 
- Self-starter, quick to take the initiative and spot new opportunities. 
- Capable of building working relationships and networks with people from a range of backgrounds and cultures. 
- Knowledge of community engagement, corporate responsibility and business ethics.
