About the programme
The Challenge is one of the UK’s fastest growing charities and the largest provider of the government’s National Citizen Service (NCS) programme. In 2018 we directly delivered the NCS programme to over 30,000 young people. Our graduate programmes, including award-winning HeadStart, continue to engage thousands of NCS graduates and other young people in on-going opportunities to get further involved in impacting their communities and improving integration.
About the role
We are looking for an exceptional, energetic, and organised individual who is passionate about young people making a difference in their community. This colleague will join our Graduate Extension team, playing a key role in supporting our NCS graduate programmes and activities.
The Graduate Administrator will work with members of both our NCS Graduate and HeadStart teams to support set-up, delivery, and monitoring of activities for young people who have graduated from NCS with The Challenge.
-Comunications & marketing: engaging with young people through text messages and phone calls to assist them in their graduate journey. You will also help deal with incoming queries from the website and our online chat function.
-Events & Logistics: support logistical planning, preparing, and organsising materials for graduate events. You will also help support with event registration at events.
-Programme delivery: Support young people to engage with opportunities that develop their skills and make a positive impact on their communities.
-Monitoring & reporting: Complete required monitoring on activities to support our graduate programmes including uploading survey results and recording case studies.
-Community working: Facilitate opportunities for young people to make a difference in their local community. -Develop local networks of engaged graduates to deliver meaningful social action projects.
-Safeguarding and health & safety: Support managers to ensure the all graduate programmes are appropriately risk assessed, and delivered in line with organisation policy, relevant legal frameworks, and health & safety best practice.
Essential knowledge and skills
-Events & Logistics: A record of supporting the delivery of, or managing events or projects in either a paid, voluntary, or training capacity.
-Youth-work Leadership: Experience of working directly with groups of young people; ideally within the 16-19 age range
-Creative community engagement: Some experience of working with community groups in either a paid, voluntary, or training capacity
-People & communication skills: Ability to give a very good first impression; able to work collaboratively and part of a team with colleagues and clients. Professional telephone manner when contacting young people and charity partners.
-Character: Interest in building stronger communities and seeing change in society. Strikingly positive attitude and integrity. Strives for continuous improvement by seeking and sharing feedback appropriately and respectfully, learns from mistakes, and always commits to performing their best.
Beneficial knowledge and skills
-Experience of using SalesForce CRM or Zendesk platforms
-Working knowledge of either the NCS or HeadStart programmes gained through previous employment on, or participation in.
-Understanding of data protection
