About the role:
Does the challenge of turning a complex puzzle of elements into a robust structure excite you? What about modelling a web of data sources into a coherent data structure? Just like a building’s success is founded on the soundness of its architect’s design we are looking for a Data Architect to design a sound structure for our complex datasets so we can meet all the requirements of a modern data and evidence driven organisation.
The Alzheimer’s Society has an ambitious data strategy to ensure the flow of data drives our decision making across the organisation. Through architecting our organisational data models, your ideas and designs will be at the centre of its technical design and be the catalyst for moving us to the cutting edge of data management in the sector. The Data Architect will be a driver for both designing and pushing into production modelled data to provide additional value in reporting, insight, integration and creating a 360 view of our stakeholders.
This role will also play a crucial governance role in ensuring proposed changes to data systems and database designs are compatible or suitable for our overall data model and system architecture.
We are looking for someone who can quickly grasp the business context for the use of data, engage technical and non-technical colleagues, and creativity in organisational data modelling. You are someone who has both experience and enthusiasm for working with data while providing thought leadership as we are moving through our data journey.
You are technically sound whilst able to immerse yourself into the business goals of the organisation. You understand terms like 3NF, star schema and MDM but you also know how to dial that language down to talk about process, outcomes and impact to colleagues. You know that the success of the data architecture is a careful balance between technical perfection and fitness for business purpose.
Our employees work hard every day to make a true difference in people's lives. We are proud to support them with a range of benefits, recognition and many options for working agilely. All contributing to a strong work life balance. We also have various learning programmes to support you in your development and help you grow to realise your potential and shape a career with Alzheimer's Society.
Alzheimer’s Society embraces diversity, inclusion and accessibility for all of our people. We are committed to building a diverse organisation that represents the communities we serve and ensuring inclusion in everything we do.
