Position: Leisure Facilities Team Leader
Location: Milton Park, Oxfordshire
Job type: Full Time, Permanent
Hours: 37 hours per week
Salary: £44,543 to £48,953 per annum

A key post, part of the active communities management team, the councils’ are seeking a dynamic, customer focused leader with a successful track record of managing a portfolio of community leisure facilities.

The council has an excellent track record of investing in its leisure facilities, services and programmes and delivering high quality services to its customers. The Active Communities Team is responsible for providing a network of well managed leisure centres, strategic leadership for sport, leisure and physical activity and delivering participation programmes, including the award winning Go Active programme. All of which contribute to improving the health and wellbeing of its residents.
This role will lead the successful management, operation and development of the council’s 11 leisure facilities across the South Oxfordshire and Vale of White Horse districts. This will involve acting as client officer for the leisure management contractors, building effective relationships and networks, communicating effectively with senior level stakeholders, both internally and externally. They will also be responsible for managing and procuring capital projects with a value in excess of £1 million for maintenance and refurbishment projects across the network.
The councils are seeking an individual with exceptional business development and analytical skills to be able to identify and provide solutions to problems. The successful candidate will be proactive, determined and a positive leader with a strong personal commitment to delivering first class leisure services and continuous improvement. An in depth knowledge and experience of the operational workings of leisure centres is essential.
