loveholidays is different to most online travel sites, our flexible search experience is 'best in class' because we are constantly refining our Booking applications (along with the downstream Backoffice platform) to ensure an optimal customer experience. 

About you: 

You are an experienced Java Developer, using at least Java 7 but able to discuss some of the key new features and benefits of Java 8. You can outline the differences between a microservice architecture and a monolithic application / platform, including the pros and cons of each. 

You have created RESTful API from scratch as part of your previous projects and have up-to-date knowledge of Spring, with experience using the framework. You are comfortable adding Spring Rest controllers, understand dependency injection and can define the difference between a controller, service and a repository and can discuss the benefits to Spring / Spring Boot. 

You own your code all the way through to production and have experience pushing features into a live environment. This means you can accurately troubleshoot to identify and foresee any potential issues. 
You have written unit tests on at least one commercial project and all code that you produce is tested thoroughly, so you understand the challenges that good unit testing addresses. You also have knowledge of CI / CD and can elaborate on your views and / or experiences with it. 

You are used to working with third-party APIs and recognise the importance of stability and consistency; with experience of the necessary defensive development practices when dealing with third-party suppliers or data sources. 

You may have experience with Cloud technologies, but have definitely developed a general appreciation and understanding of the underlying concepts. You can discuss the benefits of Cloud platforms and why / how you would personally use them as part of a project. 

You have worked with Agile methodologies, probably Scrum or Kanban and have an opinion on how to improve the Agile process in your current environment. 

You will need to have permission to work in the UK by your start date.
