About the role:

Our Regional Service Centres (RSC’s) play a pivotal role in ensuring our retail and online distribution runs to maximum efficiency across the network. In this hands-on operational role in our fast-paced Regional Service Centre, the Duty Manager will support the Warehouse Manager to develop and manage all warehouse operations.

Managing all retail and online stock moving through the warehouse operation in order to ensure excellent customer satisfaction on your assigned shift, the Duty Manager will drive efficiencies throughout the operation in order to achieve the best possible performance whilst ensuring the warehouse and transport operations run safely for all. You will ensure that the staff balance and profile mix provides the required support to the operation, offering flexibility to react to volume fluctuations.

You will be responsible for providing clear objectives and management to the team on shift to enable everyone to work safely and ensure the operation meets Health & Safety, Quality and performance targets. Leading by example, you will be a mentor and role model to the team, providing coaching and feedback to develop and maximise performance to ensure customer satisfaction. As the Duty Manager, you will also be responsible for covering the Transport operation as required and will be expected to solve any issues that will prevent the operation from running smoothly and safely.

As Duty Manager, you will compile and review daily and weekly reports, monitoring any subsequent actions. You will be responsible for escalating issues to the Warehouse Manager as appropriate and presenting them with recommendations for continuous improvement of productivity, quality and safety.

About you:

You must have gained experience in a retail or distribution management post and be confident in dealing with resource management to react to changing operational situations.

A confident communicator and strong people manager, you will be able to establish positive working relationships and be able to lead and coach a team to drive productivity and continuous improvement on your assigned shift. You must possess excellent organisational skills and be able to prioritise and manage workloads for both yourself and your team in a fast-paced, busy and challenging environment.
