Position: Volunteering Development Programme Manager
Location: Flexible across England, Wales and Northern Ireland
Contract type: Full time, Permanent
Hours: 35 per week
Salary: National: £43,316 actual per annum, Fringe: £45,483 actual per annum, London: £48,732 actual per annum. Dependent on location

You will be joining Alzheimer’s Society at a particularly exciting time. As the UK’s leading dementia support and research charity, you will be part of the leadership team shaping and delivering a significant investment into our Volunteering approaches, which will enable the delivery of our strategy ambition. .
You will be reporting to our Head of Volunteering, within the People and Organisational Development Directorate, As the Volunteering Development Programme Manager you will provide expert volunteer knowledge and a structured project management approach to lead the building of greater organisational volunteering capacity.
You will, through being accountable for the designing, shaping and growing of a range of volunteer programs which enable the delivery of our volunteering definition, ambitions and ethos.
Providing leadership to a team of employees and volunteers, you will plan develop and deliver agreed projects and programs across all directorates.
Additionally, through building collaborative relationships, using a business partnering approach you will support and enable great volunteering across the Society and support and embed our volunteering ethos.
Educated to degree level or equivalent, you will need a relevant Volunteer Management qualification or a high level of relevant experience within a large and complex charity. Your proven ability to shape and lead the volunteering agenda in such an environment must be supported by an in-depth understanding of the volunteering sector and the wider health and social and charitable fundraising landscape in the UK.
You will have a strong track record of working as part of senior team. You will have outstanding skills and experience in project and programme management, be a great people manager with excellent communication skills, you will also need the gravitas to influence senior decision makers and challenge the status quo when necessary. Resilience and first-class problem-solving skills are, of course, essential.
