Salary: National: £43,316 actual per annum, Fringe: £45,483 actual per annum, London: £48,732 actual per annum. Dependent on location

You will be joining Alzheimer’s Society at a particularly exciting time. As the UK’s leading dementia support and research charity, you will be part of the leadership team shaping and delivering a significant investment into our Volunteering approaches, which will enable the delivery of our strategy ambition. 

You will report to our Head of Volunteering, within the People and Organisational Development Directorate, As the Volunteering National Manager you will provide expert leadership to a regionally based team of employees and volunteers who are volunteering experts. Additionally, through building collaborative relationship and using a business partnering approach you will help build greater organisational capacity, by informing and shaping the volunteering agenda across the Society. You will ensure effective collaboration to influentially shape and steer the volunteering ethos at the Society and deliver empowering volunteer culture and environment. 

About you: 

Educated to degree level or equivalent, you will need a relevant Volunteer Management qualification or a high level of relevant experience within a large and complex charity. Your proven ability to shape and lead the volunteering agenda in such an environment must be supported by an in-depth understanding of the volunteering sector and the wider health and social and charitable fundraising landscape in the UK. 

You will have a strong track record of working as part of senior team, be an outstanding people manager with excellent communication skills, you will also need the gravitas to influence senior decision makers and challenge the status quo when necessary. Resilience and first-class problem-solving skills are, of course, essential.
