We operate two cement plants and around 80 quarries, 40 asphalt plants, 170 ready-mixed concrete and mortar plants, nine concrete and clay products plants, four contract surfacing businesses, six import/export terminals and two slate production facilities.

About the role: 

We are currently seeking a Commercial Manager (Construction) in the Highlands Region. 

The Commercial Manager (Construction) represents the Company across the Region and are responsible for providing a fast and responsive local service to customers, generating contracting sales in their region, building customer relationships and generating strategies to increase opportunities and profitability. They are responsible for estimating and quantity surveying functions and the management of the Contracting Commercial Team. 

About you: 

You will be degree qualified in a relevant subject and / or have considerable experience of operating at a senior level within a commercial role. Experience of the construction environment is also essential. 

You are required to be an excellent communicator, have good computer skills (Word and Excel) and have strong numerical and financial skills. 

You are also required to have exceptional customer service skills with a strong work ethic and excellent organisational and planning skills. 

You will have the ability to manage competing deadlines by estimating time frames and monitoring own progress; the ability to anticipate problems and consider a solution and the ability to negotiate and work collaboratively with colleagues and clients on both a formal and informal level. 

You will be a self-starter who is commercially focused and responds appropriately on your own to improve outcomes and process’s and assumes responsibility for yours and your team’s performance. 

Experience in a relevant commercial role is essential.
