Hours: 37 hours a week
Salary: £24,705 to £28,907 per year

About the role:
The Community Safety Officer will lead on co-ordinating a joined up response to tackling Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) on behalf of the district councils in partnership with council teams and external partner agencies (for example Thames Valley Police, Housing Associations and Children’s and Adults Safeguarding).
- Act as the first point of contact for residents who report ASB and hate crime to the councils, manage the response and record reports on the appropriate council systems
- Organise, support and participate in ASB case conferences and action planning, including chairing meetings if required
- Produce the monthly Joint Tasking papers, co-ordinate priority actions where necessary, support the chairperson and record and monitor actions
- Co-ordinate and chair regular neighbourhood ASB meetings, record and monitor actions and ensure they link effectively with joint tasking
- Utilise the district council / CSP tools set out in the Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014 to respond to ASB in South and Vale
- Manage the deployment of covert cameras belonging to the Community Safety Partnership (CSP)
- Provide advice to council teams and partner agencies on ASB
- Provide information relating to ASB for the quarterly performance reports for the CSP and councils
- Support the Community Safety Team Leader in promoting the performance of the community safety team to a wide range of stakeholders
- Educated to A level or equivalent standard
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Good report writing skills
- Good IT skills including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet and email
- Excellent oral communication skills
- Able to chair meetings
- Full driving licence and access to a vehicle
- Strong customer service ethos and desire to exceed customer expectations
- Understanding of community safety work and legislation desirable
- Experience of partnership working desirable
