Position: Assistant Project Worker
Location: East Sussex Young Mothers Service- Newhaven and Eastbourne (primarily based in Newhaven)
Job type: Part Time, Permanent
Hours: 24 hours per week
Salary: £14,301 - £21,182 plus on calls (additional payment) (£8,580.60 - £12,709.20 Pro Rata 24 hours)

About the role:

This important role involves working closely with young mothers aged 16-25 years to provide support and advice to enable them to develop their parenting skills and achieve independent living. This is done via daily running of the 5 bed houses, one to one sessions and running life skills workshops.

These are exciting opportunities for you to use your experience and knowledge of supported housing and parenting at this service. You will need to be innovative, have the ability to work under pressure and possess the drive, passion and commitment to change lives.

About you:

You should be an excellent communicator with an approachable nature and capable of dealing with young people in a calm and understanding way. You will also need to have the ability to offer support with housing, employment, emotional wellbeing and welfare benefits. Previous experience of working with vulnerable young women and / or babies and children up to the age of 2 and an understanding of safeguarding is essential.

A Disclosure and Barring Service Enhanced Certificate will be required for these roles.
