About the role:
This is a creative role that is responsible for developing engaging content across a variety of channels. You will be working with a range of media and storytelling techniques to produce compelling content for brand building and fundraising campaigns. We have identified a need to improve our content and create more impactful and innovative campaigns as part of a Digital Maturity assessment. This role is therefore key in developing content to meet the goals of our Digital Engagement Strategy, which has been in place for one year, and the wider organisational strategy. You will need to work closely with another Digital Content Producer, Digital Content Manager, Charity Website Manager, Social Media Manager and Hospital Digital Lead to shape and manage content across all platforms.
This role is channel agnostic, working instead to shape content to suit varied audiences and channels. You will need to flex your editorial and creative skills to generate different types of content including website content, film, photography, blogs, social media posts, online advertising, email marketing and podcasts. We work with a content marketing approach and so all content that is created must have distribution factored in from the start.
You will have experience of working with different types of content, with proven skills in creating website content, SEO writing, shaping and managing film content, social media management, and email build and editing. The successful candidate will also have experience across the entire cycle of content creation – from developing the concept, proactively gathering stories, shaping drafts, proofing and editing, managing a signoff process and working with colleagues to ensure impactful distribution.
Proven interviewing skills are essential and candidates must have a sensitive approach as you will be working with patients with serious medical conditions and their families. You will also need to gather content from a range of stakeholders, from senior consultants, researchers and nurses to challenge eventers, major donor and corporate supporters and school fundraisers.
Stakeholder management is an integral part of this role; we work closely with internal teams to shape content briefs and ensure that it meets strategic objectives. In some cases, you will act as ‘business partner’ for a particular team, getting under the skin of the type of content that works for their audiences and objectives, as well as training them to develop more innovative briefs and integrated digital plans.
