About the role: 

The Fire Safety and Lifts Manager will be responsible for the overall lead and management of clear, consistent and quality fire safety management, lift servicing and repairs, on a strategic and operational level to all areas of GPHG Homes. 

You will ensure GPHG meet both statutory and non-statutory fire safety management duties in relation to legislation and associated building regulations and provide a professional advisory service, embracing all areas of fire safety management, including development of strategy and policy, fire risk assessments, fire safety inspections / audits, investigations of safety incidents and contract management. 

About You: 

You will have significant knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and regulation for fire safety management as well as extensive experience of setting up, monitoring systems to assess risk, carry out inspections following up remedial critical works. Experience of delivering training and / or information sessions, conducting staff appraisals, explaining technical issues to non-technical staff is also essential. 

The ideal candidate will have a thorough understanding of Fire Safety Regulatory Reform Order 2005 and excellent specialist knowledge of managing fire safety. You will also have knowledge of legal requirements and good practice and experience of leading the management of fire safety services at a senior level. 

It is essential that you have a relevant management or appropriate qualification i.e. HND, or NEBOSH Certificate level as well as a relevant building of fire safety qualifications and current post qualification of working with fire and rescue services. 

You will be proficiency in use of MS Office or equivalent software including experience of working with housing-specific IT systems. A full driving license and access to a vehicle is essential for this role. 

It is desirable that you have experience if contract development and implementation and budget setting and management. Experience of delivering Continuous Improvement and of repairs and Asset Management technical knowledge is also desirable. A relevant professional qualification and education to degree standard or equivalent would also be an advantage.
