About the role: 

The post-holder will be responsible for the delivery, on-going success and continuous improvement of one or more strategically important digital products and/or platforms and be accountable to the Digital Service Manager for ensuring that business needs are considered and met and agreed targets are achieved. As part of the Digital Service Transformation programme, you will have responsibility for setting the direction and shape of the digital services you manage in order to achieve the organisational KPIs. 

You will be responsible for the performance management of the existing digital services and for ensuring financial sustainability across the whole portfolio. You will play a lead role in cross government and external networks in order to respond to and satisfy the needs of a diverse range of audiences and groups. You will be expected to offer expert advice on all aspects of product management in each area of the development lifecycle as well as marketing, launch and continual evaluation activities and ensure this is done with full consideration given to any wider business impacts. You will, also, be the voice of the user inside the business and must be passionate about the user experience. 

About you: 

It is vitally important all products have a clear and strong business case to support their development, therefore, you will be expected to display a good level of financial competence and commercial acumen to help draft the supporting business case and seek Programme Board approval where needed. 

As a highly visible senior leader, you will work with and influence peers and senior grades across the organisation and beyond, with responsibility for managing a series of cross functional and business groups (matrix management). You will have formal leadership for a team of Product Managers and a Product Co-ordinator, plus any periodic additions to the team, through our developmental scheme, Opportunity for All. 

You will process knowledge and experience of marketing and agile product development, as well as possess experience of effectively leading teams within a Project Management or Product Management framework. 

You may have experience of the following: Senior Commercial Manager, Purchasing Manager, Procurement Manager, MCIPS, Contract Manager, ICT Procurement, Digital Procurement, Central Government, etc.
