Position: Support Worker 
Location: Wallingford, Oxfordshire

Hours: 37.5 hours per week 
Salary: £8.24 per hour

About the Role: 

The role of a Support Worker with Affinity Trust involves supporting each person to live the life they want within the community in which they live, to build positive relationships and to reach their potential. A Support Worker post with Affinity Trust is a varied and interesting role, which their staff tell them "is fulfilling, fun and offers real opportunities to make a difference to people's lives!" 

As a support worker you will be supporting people with Learning disabilities who may also have additional health needs. As part of your role you will be supporting people with personal care, and at times intimate personal care, so they are looking for people who are able to demonstrate dignity and respect for the individuals they are supporting, whilst promoting independence. 

The people you will be supporting enjoy taking part in a variety of activities and hobbies including Gardening, shopping, theatre trips and days out/holidays, and you will be supporting them to access these as well as looking for other opportunities people may like to try. 

About You: 

You will need to have excellent communication and be able to use a range of skills to support people who may have little or no verbal communication, to enable them to actively participate in choices about their life. Some of the people you will work with may have behaviours that challenge and so you will need to be able to be creative and flexible in your approach to support people through good days and bad days. 

You will need to work flexibly and participate in shift work, including weekends and Bank holidays
