Position: Assistant Buyer 
Location: Moreton on the Wirral, Merseyside (Commutable from Liverpool)

About the role: 

They are looking for an Assistant Buyer to join their Procurement team based in Moreton on the Wirral, this role operates at the heart of their business, Procurement is responsible for sourcing all the goods and materials they need to make their products. 

This role provides support to the Moreton Procurement team and under supervision negotiate contracts for selected Indirect Expenditure Categories. They are seeking a Graduate for this role and they find that candidates with Degree’s in Finance, Business Studies, Geography and Procurement flourish in this role. Responsibilities: 

You will fix prices for Indirect Procurement areas allocated to them and sign off formal contracts. Ensure all contracts place deliver excellent service and will be responsible for resolving any operational issue as they arise. Support the negotiation of competitive cost prices and trading terms with suppliers. Ensure priorities and key deadlines are met and preparation of information / documentation to support procurement in Moreton. Maintain correct Procurement pricing information on appropriate internal systems including SAP. 

The Assistant Buyer will ensure supplier related issues are resolved in a timely manner as well as accurate completion of purchasing administrative tasks and ad hoc projects as required (PO’s, invoice queries). You will also control costs in areas allocated to them and achieve annual cost saving targets. Whilst the role is based in Moreton you may have to travel to one of their factories or suppliers typically 10% of your time could be spent travelling. 

About you: 

You will be educated to degree level or have relevant equivalent experience. Ideally you will have some work experience either in an FMCG organisation, working in the supply chain or working as part of a team. Having previous buying experience would be advantageous and strong attention to detail. 

In addition to this you will possess strong communication skills (verbal and written), be highly analytical and numerate and excellent organisation skills.
