About the role:
SHARES, a leading provider of news and comment for retail investors, is looking for a talented Designer to join the London team. The team are looking for a bright, imaginative and creative designer to produce a weekly digital magazine and help enhance a daily news and tools-orientated website.
The role would suit someone seeking the second job in their professional design career or someone who can bring relevant experience.
The job will involve creating cover designs for the magazine, laying out copy, finding relevant pictures to accompany articles, creating infographics and making data look visually appealing via innovative graphics. You will also be required to create supplements, reports, advertorials, brochures, event invitations, logos, interactive pdfs and much more.
Experience as a designer or a production role for a newspaper, magazine or renowned website is essential. The ideal candidate will be proficient in Adobe InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator as well as MS office tools. A natural flair for typographical & page layout projects, with a good understanding of print and digital formats, infographics and branding is also essential.
A good understanding of web design principles would be an advantage, including production of interactive PDFs, presentations and web-based collateral. Previous print experience is desirable as there are many elements of the print process still relevant to SHARES’ digital magazine format.
