About the role:
As an Electrician you will carry out repairs and maintenance activities to a high standard on a wide range of properties in a courteous and polite manner, recognising their customer care philosophy. The Electrician is accountable for completing repair works as directed and for achieving and maintaining high standards of work that ensure high customer satisfaction levels.
Within this role you will undertake all electrical repairs and renovations identified within Acis housing stock and any other properties as instructed in both tenanted and void properties, ensuring that the correct materials are identified and used to complete the work at the required quality standard. You will also complete Electrical Installation Condition Reports, installation and minor works certificates and undertake multi-skilled works as and when required.
In addition, you will identify where necessary, the extent of repairs and installations required on site, with the aim to complete in one visit, reporting any problems or further action required to the office. You will also carry out work activities in line with current Approved Codes of Practice and in accordance with Building Regulations, IEE wiring Regulations and the Electricity at Work Regulations 17th Edition.
To be considered for this role you will have a City & Guilds / EAL NVQ L3 Electrotechnical Services - Electrical Installation, Building and Structures (or City and Guilds 2360 Part 1 & 2 along with AM2) or equivalent electrical qualification.
You will also hold a City and Guilds / EAL 2382 17th Edition Wiring Regulations, City and Guilds / EAL 2391 (or both City and Guilds 2394 & 2395) Testing Qualifications and have a willingness to undertake further qualifications to meet the needs of the post.
With a sound working and practical knowledge of 17th Edition Wiring Regulations, you will have an understanding of property repairs and new build construction along with an understanding of single and three phase electric systems. You will also have experience of completing electrical work within domestic properties along with periodic inspection experience and of fault finding and repairs to electrical installations and circuits.
You must possess a full, UK driving licence.
Desirable skills or experience:
Additionally, you will have the ability to use IT systems such as a PDA as necessary to ensure the effectiveness of the repairs service.
