About the role
The Volunteering Officer role is based in our Northwich office but the post holder will be providing volunteer recruitment and management support across the whole of the Cheshire & St Helens Locality. This will involve extensive travel across Wirral, West Cheshire, Cheshire East and Warrington and St Helens areas to liaise with local service teams.
We are looking for a dynamic, skilled and highly motivated individual who will be responsible for all aspects of volunteering within the locality. The post holder will coordinate the recruitment, induction, support and training of volunteers who are integral to the delivery of our services for people affected by dementia.
You will possess NVQ level 2 (or equivalent) or demonstrable experience. It is desirable that you have experience of working with statutory and voluntary agencies and have experience of leading and managing a team of volunteers. The successful candidate will need excellent organisational and communication skills, be able to work independently and use their initiative to promote volunteer opportunities and spearhead volunteer recruitment.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the successful candidate will also be responsible for managing the learning and development of volunteers across the area. This is a challenging but rewarding role offering the opportunity to work with a dedicated team of staff and volunteers in a range of areas including local services, fundraising, media, campaigning and administration
