About the role:
Collinson Grant has a challenging opportunity for a new Senior HR Management Consultant to join our team of specialist HR advisers. We focus on HR strategy, workforce planning, reward and recognition, employee relations, managing performance, and talent management. Strong skills in reward are a prerequisite. Some support is 'advisory', other larger assignments centre on implementing restructuring and organisational improvement. Long-standing clients are in many different sectors. This appointment is focused on exploiting the real potential Collinson Grant believes there is to grow the business.
The job will involve building and sustaining relationships with existing clients to maximise fee earning and achieve budgeted income, developing new contacts and selling professional consultancy services, including multifaceted assignments, audits of HR services and annual support contracts, managing and contributing to larger consultancy jobs, being part of the senior management team at Collinson Grant.
There will be considerable travel to clients throughout the UK. Candidates ideally should live within a commutable distance of Manchester.
We anticipate this post will suit applicants who have completed at least three years successful progression in a fees-based professional firm and who are now confident in seeking more responsibility to sell and manage work. It is an opportunity for a proven, ambitious and talented practitioner to move into a senior role. First and foremost, the successful candidate should have the ability and drive to develop new business in a competitive, professional services environment, and (equally important), be able to maintain and build relationships with demanding clients.
Candidates will ideally have a 'first' in a degree from a Russell Group university. Substantial line-management experience in a large organisation will also be useful.
You should have solid technical competence in HR and be up-to-date with modern working practices and understand the day-to-day pressures on busy line managers. You should ideally have experience in HR analytics, data and metric development and have knowledge of what is at the forefront of thinking in the market, be it technology or methodology. You should be able to demonstrate an innovative approach to developing services and products that match clients' needs. In addition, you should be able to demonstrate: excellent communication skills, the personal credibility to work with senior managers, directors and chief executives of large organisations, a sound commercial instinct, and a passion for business development and an unqualified desire to build long-term relationships.
