Position: Operations Assistant/ Asset Planner 
Location: Guildford, Surrey

About the role: 

Thomson Ecology has an exciting opportunity for an Asset Planner to join their talented team. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting the Operations Manager with the organisation and allocation of staff and equipment to projects. Your main responsibilities will be to ensure the efficient purchasing, management and resourcing of all equipment, PPE and clothing within the company. 

You will also manage the allocation their 4x4 vehicles to projects and ensure their upkeep. Continual tracking of equipment and regular auditing of stores will be a key part of the role. Projects may require additional staff so a part of your role will be to assist with the management and resourcing of casual staff. You’ll need to have strong written and verbal communication skills as well as the ability to plan and prioritise your workload effectively in order to meet tight deadlines. Experience of working in a fast paced environment as well as an understanding of ecological survey requirements and survey seasons would be advantageous. 

About you: 

- Experience of resourcing or equipment management 
- Technical knowledge relating to field kit or survey equipment, particularly related to ecology 
- Organised, efficient and able to work under pressure 
- Computer literate with experience using all of MS Office (primarily Word and Excel) 
- Vehicle owner and hold a full UK driving licence
