About the role:
We are looking for enthusiastic, helpful, committed Chefs for their new Mumbles Restaurant, someone who is already proven and experienced as a Chef, but who still wants to learn, is ambitious and has a sense of hard work and fun.
As a Chef you would be responsible for running the well looked after kitchen and your primary job would also include supervising and coaching junior chefs to ensure they are working effectively. Working closely as part of the wider restaurant and bar service teams, with the General Manager and with the rest of the front of house, consistency and quality of food along with hitting their targets are crucial factors to succeed in this role.
This position would require a responsible individual with good attention to detail and strong organizational and supervisory skills. You will be responsible for a team of chefs and kitchen porters.
This is a brand new opening and as such we will be recruiting a full back of house and front of house team so would also be interested in referrals or applications from chefs of all levels and of front of house colleagues.
Most importantly, you will enjoy working with and maintaining a high level of energy, as this will be a very fast paced kitchen environment. Our Mumbles team will typically cater for covers of approximately 100 over a relatively quiet lunchtime service up to approximately 330 covers during a busy evening or weekend service.
We will also offer a separate bar service with a full bar menu in addition to our restaurant offering. You will be taking on the responsibility of a busy kitchen but the requirements are simple, you will need to love cooking, but also be happy working from predominantly predefined menus. In addition, you must have previous management experience and be resourceful and ambitious. Basic Microsoft Word, Excel & Outlook knowledge is also desirable.
